Pantone has been dominating voice in colour predictions for years and the colour institute is predicting pops of colour for the new season.
Pantone have released the top ten colours for spring 2017, to coincide with various fashion weeks around the world.
This year, the list is decidedly subdued, featuring plenty of muted, earthy tones, including Kale and Hazelnut, with pops of primary colours like Lapis Blue and Primrose Yellow.
Want to get ahead of the spring palette?
We’ve cherry-picked the must-have colours of 2017.
Primrose Yellow: A buttery, sunny yellow, Primrose was seen throughout the runway collections for spring/summer 2017.
Pale Dogwood: Like the flower, this subtle, muted shade of pink can be worn with any number of rich chestnut browns or deep rust reds for autumn months.
Hazelnut: This shade brings to mind a natural earthiness. Unpretentious and with an inherent warmth, Hazelnut is a transitional color that effortlessly connects the seasons.
Island Paradise: a refreshing aqua that calls to mind a change of scenery. A blue-green shade, it is emblematic of tropical settings and our desire to unwind.
Greenery: Said to be the standout colour of 2017, Greenery is luscious, vibrant and verdant. Think freshly cut grass or flourishing foliage.
Flame: A red-based orange, Flame, is gregarious and fun-loving. Flamboyant and vivacious, this wonderfully theatrical shade adds fiery heat to the spring 2017 palette.
Pink Yarrow: Vibrant and bold, this color nearly borders on magenta. Electric fuchsia shades are bound to brighten any damp spring morning.
Niagara: Comfortable and dependable. Niagara is a classic denim-like blue that speaks to our desire for ease and relaxation.
Kale: Evocative of the great outdoors and a healthy lifestyle, Kale is another foliage-based green. This is a lush and fertile natural green shade.
Lapis Blue: Conveying even more energy is Lapis Blue. Strong and confident, this intense blue shade is imbued with an inner radiance.
